GOAL #42 Complete

Goal # 42 Complete - Hike Ice Caves

As beautiful as this amazing experience was, it was the first time I was actually frightened. As I wiggled through the tight crevasses, the constant cracking of the ice was a little unnerving. All I could think was think that if the ice moved, that I would be in a terrible mess.
My guide was amazing and very patient with me and my nerves. He did his best to fill me with confidence as he explained all the work and preparation he and the crew put into the safety side of things at the Matanuska Glacier. And to be fair, they are very proactive in doing everything to ensure safety and fun. I was just a bit of a scaredy cat! Doesn't happen often, but this was one of the few times it did.

Goal #48 Complete

Goal #48 Complete - Visit the Seven Magic Mountains

I visited this artistically fun roadside attraction with my good friend, Mandi, and we enjoyed the warmth of the desert air on our skin as we checked out these vibrant giants. Call me crazy, but I love this kind of thing.

GOAL #17 Complete

Goal #17 Complete - Hang with Reindeer

I'm not going to lie, this is by far one of my favorite things that I've done. The staff at the Reindeer farm in Palmer, AK, are great, and not only allow you to visit with and feed the Reindeer, they send you away with a whole wealth of knowledge on Santa's furry helpers.
These reindeer are so domesticated that they are used in movies, and events such as Fur Rondy where they outshine humans in the running with the reindeer.
And just for the record, Santa's reindeer aren't a bunch of guys that pick on Rudolf. Oh no ho ho! They are actually females. Male Reindeer shed their antlers in the winter and are antler free by Christmas.

Goal #26 - January

Goal #26 - 30 Day Challenge Every Month - January

At the end of 2019 I purchased this big book of 30 day challenges. I'm a goal driven individual and this book was full of new and fun ideas.

For January I've chosen to start the year by listening to a TED talk every morning to start my day.
I'm half way through the month so far, and I've felt a tremendous lift in my mood and attitude toward everything.
This is a goal I'd recommend to everyone.

GOAL #34 SPEND THE DAY WITH GIRAFFES

I didn't get to spend a whole day with Giraffes, but I had to opportunity to spend a little time with them. I truly wish that I could have had a longer time, but the health and well-being of these magnificent animals is more important that my Ridiculist.
I don't know if it's those big brown eyes, or the nerdy big ears, that make them so adorable to me, but I just love them.

Here are a few facts about my favorite wild animal

1. It's the tallest mammal on the planet.
2. Giraffes only need a max of 30 minutes sleep a day.
3. A giraffe's neck is too short to reach the ground, hence the awkward stance at the watering hole.
4. Giraffes give birth standing up - Ouch.
5. The fuzzy horns on a giraffes head are called Ossicones.
6. A giraffes spots are as unique as our fingerprints.
7. A giraffes tongue can reach up to 21 inches.

GOAL 9 - 50 HUGS WITH 50 STRANGERS IN 50 MINUTES

While at Comicon, I decided to kill two birds with one stone and attempt goal #9.
I felt a little intimidated to start with, but I quickly noticed how happy people were to give someone a hug. There were some that were a little shy, but still willing, and then there was those who threw their arms around me like a long lost friend.
This goal was a great reminder of the goodness that's out there. It's important not to loose sight of that.
