GOAL 9 - 50 HUGS WITH 50 STRANGERS IN 50 MINUTES

While at Comicon, I decided to kill two birds with one stone and attempt goal #9.
I felt a little intimidated to start with, but I quickly noticed how happy people were to give someone a hug. There were some that were a little shy, but still willing, and then there was those who threw their arms around me like a long lost friend.
This goal was a great reminder of the goodness that's out there. It's important not to loose sight of that.

GOAL 55 - COMPLETE

Goal 55 - Be a Blonde for the day

Let's just start by saying, I'm no Beyonce. That girl could pull off just about anything, but this girl... well, that's a whole different story.
After trying on a bunch of blonde wigs, I'm not gonna lie, I became a little discouraged. Turns out, I'm not the chameleon I'd like to think I am, and for the most part, I look ridiculous as a blonde. But I did find this blonde bob, and wore it the whole day to complete goal 55 on my Ridiculist.
They say Blondes have more fun. I wish it was that easy. Let's face it, we'd all be running to the nearest hairdressers if all you had to do was  bleach your hair to have a good time.
Regardless of whether I have Brown, Blonde, or Grey wiry strands on my head, my life is fun because of the people I have in it and because of what's inside of me.

GOAL 8 COMPLETE

Goal 8 - Dinner in the Dark

You think you know what to expect when you hear about pitch black dining. After all, how hard can it be to imagine eating in the dark? But as I found out, it was a great deal of fun, a sensory explosion, and a huge "trip" all at the same time.
Once we were all checked in, our friendly waiter explained what we could expect and checked that neither myself or my husband had any allergies. We then placed our hands on each others shoulders to form a human train, as the waiter led us to our table.

The waiting staff all wore night vision goggles, and I can only imagine some of the strange and funny things they must see during their shifts.
We were served several courses, and with each one, my husband tried to guess what we were eating. When we saw the menu later we discovered that we couldn't have been m ore wrong. It would seem that we rely on our sight a great deal when eating, more than I would ever have thought.
Halfway through the main course my husband and I thought it would be fun to see if we could feed each other across the table. The answer to that was a big fat NO. I just about stabbed my husbands eye out and he fed my shoulder.
Another great thing about the experience is that no one is allowed to take anything that lights up into the dining room. This meant all cell phones and devices, including watches with light up faces, had to be put in lockers until the end of your meal.
I'm pretty sure the last time I sat through dinner without someone glancing at their cell phone was back in the 90's, so this was a real added bonus. The whole experience is about the conversation, company, and taste.
I don't know that I would recommend this for a first date, just in case you walk back into the light and your date sees you wearing half your meal, but I would highly recommend anyone else to give it a try. Check out the link below for more details.

Goal 16 - Go to Comicon in Costume

Comicon 2019.
I was supposed to go to Comicon as the Mad Hatter, and I had spent hours, and I mean hours, working on my costume. Unfortunately, after having a major surgery, I had to wear a brace around my torso, which meant my Mad Hatter costume no longer fit right.
So here I am as the 13th Doctor, and Amanda is Frya. (And if you know who Frya is, then your'e a bigger nerd then I am. I had to look her up).
However, the moment we arrived at Come-on, others were wanting to have their photos taken with Amanda and she immediately had a fan club. I really need to get my nerd on so I can keep up. :)
It was a FANTASTIC experience, and I recommend anyone that has thought about going to just go. I loved all the costumes, the great atmosphere, and the events you could participate in.
When me and Amanda were walking from the parking lot to the conference center, people were staring at us like we were idiots. Even while driving on the freeway, people gave us some strange looks. But the moment we walked through the doors for the conference center we were with our peeps. In fact, I felt rather under dressed compared to many that were there.
It was a little reminder, that in life there are times that we don't fit in. Take me, for instance. I'm a self proclaimed weirdo, and I love it. I know that I am not everybody's cup of tea, and that's okay. But we all have a place where we belong. We just have to be willing to embrace who we are, and find like minded peeps.

Keep the dream alive

Hey, Ellen, I think you forgot to send my tickets

Oh Ellen, why?

Why, after spending season 16 trying to get tickets to the show, did I never get to go?
When I checked last, you were out of tickets. The season is booked.
After a gallon of bubble gum ice cream, I pulled myself together. It was then that I realized, "Ellen can do ANYTHING." If you wanted to put two extra chairs in the audience, whose gonna argue with Ellen? Maybe the fire department because of the whole, "you can only have so many people in a building at one time" thing, but I have no doubt you could make them see things your way.

When applying for tickets, instead of only asking for a photo, I think you should have a section  called, "Why I deserve to be on the Ellen show."

Here's 10 reasons you should have me on your show.

1. I have a Ridiculist to complete. I can't let down the two or three people that check my blog.

2. I wanna see my BFF, Amanda, dance off with Twitch. The girl's got moves.

3. I wouldn't ask for an autograph or selfie together. Although, if you insisted, a selfie together would be brilliant. Just think, you could make it your profile pic;)

4. My cat died and I think tickets to the Ellen Show would be therapeutic and healing  ;)

5. I think Portia would want this for me ;)

6. I'm fat and being on your show would make me fat AND happy.

7. I became an American Citizen in March .

8. I'm turning 50 this year, and who knows how long I have left.

9. You'd really like me if you met me. You'd actually wish you had met me sooner.

10. We have so much in common - We both like Gorilla's. We both wear shoes. We're both women. And we're both normal.
